NASHVILLE MILITARY AND VETERAN SERVICES CONVENTION
Nashville Honors Heroes Hosts:
The 1st Annual Nashville Military and Veteran Support Services Convention
Nashville Honors Heroes believes Middle Tennessee has a unique set of resources available for supporting service members, veterans, and their families. We are currently planning a convention around Veterans Day 2016 to bring together the resource experts in the area. Our vision for the convention is to include all veteran service organizations, local government, federal agencies, and local businesses in the Nashville area willing to participate in a collaborative effort to determine how to help Nashville flourish into the epitome of a military supportive community. The convention will be a space for open dialogue about how to support Middle Tennessee military service members, veterans, and their families to the fullest extent possible through that unique set of resources.
A series of planning meetings will be scheduled to determine organizations’ concerns, goals, and capabilities in the months leading up to the convention. These collaborative meetings will culminate in a set of propositions that will be refined into short- and long-term plans for the Nashville community during the convention. Nashville Honors Heroes’ goal is to make the convention an annual space for Nashville veteran service organizations to revisit, refine, and recommit to the plans. This goal includes quarterly progress meetings of participating organizations as opportunities for collaboration, cooperation, and learning.
